Handmade at St John’s!

Peterborough’s very own monthly Curiosity Shop!

Saturday March 2nd sees the welcome return of the Handmade Fair at St John’s Church behind the Guildhall in Cathedral Square.  Usually held around the first Saturday of the month between March and December with an extra couple of dates in the run up to Christmas, the Handmade Fair offers a diverse array of artisan stalls selling their unique, hand-crafted wares.

Regulars include a variety of jewellery stalls (including upcycled/recycled and origami designs); scrumptious cupcakes, gluten-free edible gifts and preserves; beautiful knitted and crocheted accessories for adults and children; cross stitch and quilting; and handmade soaps, candles and cards.  There are local artists selling their work here too, alongside craftsmen working in wood including one producing handmade fountain pens.

The Fair is open between 10am and 3pm, and you can enjoy a break from shopping in the St John’s café which serves delicious home-made cakes alongside their freshly-prepared hot and cold drinks.  So, what are you waiting for?   Come and treat yourself to a unique gift for you or someone special in one of the most beautiful buildings in Peterborough.
