Some follow-ups to “Can Peterborough grow its own food?”

mapHere is some information designed to answer a few questions asked at this week’s Tuesday Till Two talk.

One person wanted to know about possibilities for gleaning food left in the field by farmers after they are rejected by supermarkets or are uneconomic to harvest for some other reason. One way to get involved is to sign up to Feedback’s “Gleaning Network UK“. Feedback is also on facebook.

Here is a link to the interactive map that Mikey mentioned in his talk. Peterborough in Transition has previously created a wild food map showing fruit trees that are accessible to the public. You can find more of Mikey’s work on his website.

Further copies of the “Edible Peterborough” map may be available from Chauffeurs Cottage.
